Different Types of Fish Foods

Are you looking for different types of foods for your fish? The food provided to your fish must be safe, based on high nutrition and appropriate to their livestock. Choosing the right food for your fish is a key factor in maintaining the health and long life of your pet.
We can divide fish foods into 3 main categories:

            Polyp Lab Reef-Roids

Freeze-dried food: In this category, we include worms, larvae, brine shrimp and krill etc. Such types of foods usually have one single ingredient, like mosquito larvae, blood worms and the like. They are normally available as form pressed sheets or chunks. Owing to the fact that they contain only single organism so they can’t be regarded as a complete diet. Therefore, these kinds of fish foods are considered to be used as supplements with other foods. As the name suggests, it is always recommended to store freeze-dried products under optimal conditions.

Always buy more than one variety and rotate your feed with regular time intervals. The fish too get bored of eating the same stuff every day. A good variety of foods is one that meets the needs of most of the fish in your community aquarium.

Manufactured Food: In manufactured foods, foods like floating and sinking pallet, granular and flake food. Flake food is eaten by both marine and tropical freshwater fish. It is very well suited for top dwellers and mid water fish. As soon as it settled down in an aquarium, it can be easily eaten by bottom dwellers too. Flake foods come with highly nutritious benefits covering the needs of fish nutrition. They also provide great vitamins to fish too. There are many benefits of feeding flake foods to fish as they are easier to keep, comes in different flavors, etc. Algae flakes are available for vegetarian fish but always remember to remove uneaten algae flakes after 24 hours. Likewise, if you have big fish in your aquarium then this will be great if you provide some big flakes to fish. And why not, they have larger mouths and they obviously want to grasp something big. In this way, fish fulfills their needs of nutrients and vitamins from Flake foods, the best source available for them.
Live Food: In live fish food category, we include maggots, fresh insect larvae, feeder fish and live worms. One can find large variety of live foods from aquarium shops available from big goldfish down to the tiny brine shrimp. Purchase of live foods can be a practical solution for you if you can afford but unluckily it may bring diseases in your aquarium. Some of the most commonly used live foods are feeder guppies, adult brine shrimp, black worms and white worms.
